What about using canvas?
If you want a change from traditional framing, with glass, matts and frames, consider canvas.
Bring in your photo on CD or flash drive and we’ll produce it for you on high quality canvas. A protective coating is added and you can even gently clean your work if necessary.
Or have it put onto canvas yourself and we can provide the perfect treatment to make it look like a work of art that will endure for many years.
Howick Frames and Gallery can then stretch your canvas firmly on a 20ml or 40ml deep stretcher.
We also have a selection of prints by Lawrence Leitch available on canvas.
If you have a canvas that has been taken off its stretcher, it’s no problem to re-stretch it for you.
Making the most of mirrors
Your mirrors should reflect more than just your image – it should also reflect your personality.
We have hundreds of frames you can choose from – you can even take our samples home to see how they would look with your furniture.
After you’ve chosen your frame, you can decide if you want a plain mirror, or if you want to finish it off with a bevel edge, 15, 20, 30 ml? You decide.
Mirrors really do provide the finishing touch to your room as well as giving the illusion of space. Your mirrors should reflect more than just your image – it should also reflect your personality. After you’ve chosen your frame, you can decide if you want a plain mirror, or if you want to finish it off with a bevel edge, 15, 20, 30 ml? You decide.
We also have mirrors in store that you can select from.
People come for miles to have us frame their needlework, and with good reason. After you’ve spent months, sometimes years to create your masterpiece, you want it to look good now and in the future.
We are proud of the service we offer for needlework.
Everything is done to Guild standards. We do not damage your work – if in the future you wish to change the framing treatment, that is not a problem.
We can wash, stretch and tape or lace your work. We will then mount and frame the piece to your requirements.
We use conservation materials and will not harm your fabric.
All work is framed in such a way that it will come out of its settings without causing any damage at all. So if you redecorate your precious needlework will still look fantastic on your wall.
We frame jerseys for Super 14 Clubs, about 100 each year. As you can see the results are stunning.
We can make your autographed jersey look just as good. We will print details of the games surrounding the shirt, add headings, photos, signatures, ticket stubs – whatever you want to remember the occasion.
But why stop there? We have framed a wedding dress, a crab, medals, drumsticks, a wedding tapa cloth, statues, papyrus, theatre tickets, a tennis set – in fact just about anything.
And your precious souvenir can be made to look very special. For example, we float your papyrus so that the edges are clearly visible and the integrity of the work is maintained.
If you’re lucky enough to get an autograph from your favourite rock star, or a pick, or a photo, or the set list from their concert – why not frame it. Check out Sheryl Crow … or the Rolling Stones.
